In the Main Bureau of Parks and Lands you will enjoy picnicking and swimming. One particular place you can visit is the Damariscotta Lake in Jefferson. The Damariscotta Lake State Park has the large freshwater lake that is a perfect place for relaxation. It has a sandbeach complete with picnic tables and grills families can use during the summer months.
