It’s in 767 Fifth Avenue (58th St.) and it’s considered the largest toy land in New York City - F.A.O. Schwarz Toy Store. The entrance has the three story singing clock to the tune of “Welcome to Our World of Toys.” They have complimentary gift wrapping services and offers free delivery of toys to local Manhattan hotels but you can also have your purchases shipped home.
The place was created by Frederick August Otto Schwarz and tht toy store was called “Toy Bazaar” during the 1870’s. Once you have entered the place, it will lead you to “Spanky, the Gund Where Bear” who will give information to almost about everything in F.A.O. For example, he will tell you where the famous stuffed animals are located.
FAO’s regular hours is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday’s through Saturdays and from
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Sundays.
Holiday Hours
- Monday through Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
