The venerable Fontainebleau resort at the north end of Miami Beach, once the playground of the Rat Pack, will be back in another incarnation this fall. That original was designed by department-store window designer turned architectural icon, Morris Lapidus.
Jeffrey Soffer, Fontainebleau Resorts Executive Chairman said in a press release, “We are moving the resort into the future with a nod to its iconic past. Fontainebleau will be infused with the sexy, glamorous, ultramodern spirit of the idiosyncratic original.” restaurants will include the ubiquitous upscale steakhouse: In this case, Gotham Steak. Rooms will start from $239 this fall, and should be available starting in September, a spokeswoman tells me. And another Fontainebleau is due in Vegas next year.
