The Golden Gate Park can be visited at any time of the year. There are so many trails, enclaves, gardens and groves of exotic trees that you can keep rediscovering on each visit. Among the great finds are a glass-domed Victorian greenhouse, free Sunday concerts performed by the park’s own band, a small herd of bison, and vintage Dutch windmills to pump irrigation water.

Golden Gate Park is the special place to see one of the most beautiful gardens like the very well known ‘Shakespeare Garden’. This garden centers on plants and flowers mentioned in Shakespearean plays and sonnets – like poppies, daisies, roses, lilies, and violets.

The public bus transportation of San Francisco offers a Golden Gate Park shuttle that provides free service to passengers situated at one of 15 locations scattered about the park. This mode of transportation is available during the weekends and holidays, from 10am to 6pm until the middle of December. The Golden Gate Concourse Authority provides a complete schedule with additional details found by calling (415) 831-2727.
