The Saxman Native Totem Park is a native village located in Saxman, Alaska.  It is filled with stunningly beautiful view with a mere population of 400.  The place is a home to the world’s biggest totem pole collections.
Rock Oyster Man Pole is one of the 24 intricately carved and painted specimen that is in memory of a young fisherman.  The story of the said fisherman is a metaphor of the Tlingit nation where he came from.
According to the story, he was fishing near his home when he caught his arm in the shell of a giant oyster. He drowned on the incoming tide.
There are tour guides who can help you wander the extravagant beauty of the place.
Located 2.5 miles (four km) south on Tongass Hwy.
